This site is a blog written and published by me, Dmitry Fadeyev — designer, developer and aspiring writer. I cover a variety of topics with the main focus on design, art and practical philosophy.
I run a startup called Usaura, which is a web-based tool to help designers test out their interfaces during prototype stages. I co-authored two design books published by Smashing Magazine, The Smashing Book #1 and The Smashing Book #3 (Chapters in the first book: User Interface Design in Modern Web Applications and Design to Sell - Increasing Conversion Rates, and in the third book: Innovative Techniques for Building Better User Experiences). I also run a popular design focused blog called UsabilityPost.

This site is powered by toto, a tiny lightning fast blog engine (I wrote a guide on getting started with toto) and hosted on Heroku, an exceptional cloud hosting service. TextMate is my editor of choice for development and writing. For longer pieces and book writing I use Scrivener, which lets you easily organize the work by splitting it up into short, focused sections.
